PLEASE NOTE: The term 'blackout' refers to the fact that the fabric is designed not to allow light to pass through it. Light ingress and bleed will occur through the gap between each slat and the perimeter of the vertical blind unit. Also this Classic Blackout vane has a colour co-ordinated blackout backing to match the fabric front.

Colour & Finish

  • Colour: A deep, saturated black that sits firmly in true jet‑black territory rather than veering towards charcoal.
  • Tone/Depth: Consistent and richly opaque; it absorbs ambient light, giving the slats a crisp, uninterrupted silhouette
  • Finish: A matte to ultra‑low‑sheen surface with a smooth, finely grained texture. There’s no visible pattern, resulting in a clean, solid visual block of colour.
  • Visual impact: The matte black creates striking contrast against white or pale trims, giving windows a sharp, architectural outline that feels intentional and high‑end.

Material Look & Construction

  • Fabric feel (appearance): Made from a tightly woven polyester blackout fabric. The weave reads smooth with a slight, subtle texture — modern, sleek, and refined.
  • Opacity: Blackout — ideal when maximum light exclusion or room darkening is required.
  • Practical note: Polyester blackout fabrics tend to resist dust and marks, and usually wipe clean easily with a lightly damp cloth. This makes them practical for high‑use rooms, rented spaces, and offices where durability matters.

Room Styles That Match "Classic Blackout Onyx"

1) Modern Minimal / Contemporary

  • Works beautifully with crisp white or cool grey walls.
  • Pair with slender black window hardware and brushed steel accents.
  • Keep surrounding décor simple to let the black slats read as a bold, graphic feature.

2) Monochrome Luxe

  • Base your scheme on black, white, and a single metallic (chrome or brass).
  • Glossy furniture, quartz worktops, or marble‑effect pieces elevate the luxurious feel.
  • Strong, hotel‑inspired lines suit this look well.

3) Industrial / Urban

  • Complements structural textures such as concrete, exposed brick, raw timber, and metalwork.
  • Matte black slats nod to steel frameworks and pipework common in loft‑style interiors.

4) Scandinavian with Edge

  • Soft woods, muted neutrals, and light walls gain depth when anchored with strong black verticals.
  • Add warm, tactile layers (wool throws, bouclé cushions) to keep the room feeling inviting.

5) Home Office / Studio

  • Excellent blackout performance makes these ideal for screen‑based work.
  • Pair with streamlined desks, cable‑managed setups, and black task lighting for a tidy work zone.

6) Media Room / Bedroom (Dark Cocoon)

  • Enhances light control for films or sleep.
  • Blackout fabric supports a cosy, cocoon‑like atmosphere.
  • Use layered lighting (dimmable LEDs, wall washers) for comfort and flexibility.

7) Hotel‑Chic

  • Team with plush fabrics (velvet, chenille), thick rugs, and warm wooden bedside furniture.
  • Add metallic lamps or reflective accents to balance the deep black with subtle glamour.
