✅ How to Measure for Vertical Blind Slat/Vane Replacement
You do not need to measure the headrail for replacement slats—just the vanes themselves.

✅ 1. Measure the Length (Height)
If you still have an old vane
This is the easiest method.
- Remove one existing slat from the headrail.
- Lay it flat on a table.
- Measure from the very top of the vane (full fabric length turnover edge to turnover edge)
down to the very bottom.
✅ This is your exact replacement length.
⚠️ Important: Do not subtract anything. Vertical slats will be fabricated to the exact length measured.
If all vanes are missing
Inside‑mounted blinds
- Measure from the underside of the headrail
- Down to where you want the bottom of the vanes to hang
(usually 1/2" above the floor or window sill) - Subtract 1/2 inch from that number
✅ This is the correct vane length.
Outside‑mounted blinds
- Measure from the bottom of the headrail
- To your desired bottom point
- No subtraction needed—use the full measurement.
